What the appointment covers.
Instrument testing
Support with tests of continuity, insulation, residual current devices, earth fault loop impedance and earthing systems.
Functional testing
Checks on supplies, protection, emergency lighting, safety sources and specialist systems.
Managing the findings
Recording of defects and technical support in defining and verifying the corrective work.
Preparing the installation for final inspection.
Depending on the appointment, this can include test plans, inspection sheets, defect registers and closing technical notes.
The work is carried out in support of the installation company. It does not involve taking on a formal appointment as testing engineer, nor signing the related certificates.
